PROJECTS
WHO TDR TB Active Community Screening
This WHO-TDR supported project focuses on active community-based TB screening and enhanced referrals, targeting underserved and high-risk populations. The initiative aims to bridge healthcare access gaps by engaging community health workers (CHWs) and TB survivors in door-to-door verbal screening, TB awareness sessions, and digital self-screening tools to ensure early detection and timely referrals to diagnostic facilities.
A key component of this project is the enhanced uptake of TB Preventive Treatment (TPT). Through structured counseling sessions, community health teams will work to improve awareness and adherence to TPT, particularly among household contacts of TB patients, people with diabetes, and other high-risk groups.
By integrating primary healthcare strengthening, digital health interventions, and community-driven TB case-finding efforts, this initiative will contribute to reducing TB transmission, improving treatment outcomes, and supporting WHO’s End TB Strategy.
